Television presenter and philanthropist (and new mum-to-be) Katie Piper has been announced as ambassador for the UK Stem Cell Foundation.

Piper, who was the victim of an acid attack, said she's 'delighted to become an ambassador for the UK Stem Cell Foundation as it supports an area of medical research that holds tremendous potential'. Having received the treatment herself she added 'I hope to be able to help raise awareness and support for this incredible area of medical research'.
